CES 2010: Powermat Expand iPhone Charger Range

CES 2010: Powermat Expand iPhone Charger Range
Case-mate may have been debuting their iPhone wireless charging system, but Powermat have been at the game a little longer, using this CES to unveil two new iPhone charging products, plus a very interesting new battery range for other mobile handsets.
First, the iPhone news.  The Powermat wireless charging system requires your iPhone to wear a special case, which until now has always been a hard plastic one, but has now been joined by a silicone item.  According to Powermat, this is one of their most requested products, so be grateful.
The second product is a little more intriguing, in that it combines the Powermat receiver and an extended battery into one case, boosting your standby and charging flexibility in one go!  At this stage, there are no facts or figures on the extra power provided by the battery pack.
Powerpak have also added new Powermat pads, including a range of single, double or triple point pads and a portable mat with its own built-in battery.  Although they don’t apply to the iPhone thanks to its lack of removeable battery, Powermat were justly proud of the new Powermat Powerpak receivers – batteries with the receiver part built-in – negating the need for a special case and making the idea of wireless charging even more attractive.
Pricing details and a release date for the iPhone accessories has yet to be confirmed.
